ARTICLES FOR EDITORS
In an attempt to be of service to Local Society and District editors who are publishing their bulletins on-line, the ARS is making available to these editors articles from the American Rose for use in their publications. These will be relatively short articles with a small file size that can be readily downloaded and added to a bulletin. They will be in full color and will not be available through the ARS website.
It is requested that editors who publish these articles from the American Rose accompany them with ARS membership information, as well as a brief explanation of the origin of the article so that their readers can see what they’re missing by not being ARS members. This will help increase ARS membership.
Articles available at the present time are “Bugging Your Garden” from pp. 30-31 and “Stomata: Windows to the Outside World” from pp. 38-39, both from the August/September issue. Both of these, as well as the membership information sheets from pages 76 & 77 of the same issue, are available upon request as pdf files from ARS Headquarters, Editor- Article Request Form.
2007 BOOKS GUIDE
This 2007 Books Guide is a first attempt to assess in some way the state of rose books and other rose publications currently available
and of interest to U.S. rose gardeners. The purpose of the Guide is at least partially realized
in this first edition — to serve as an aid to members who want to know what rose literature is “out there” and to stir some into
seeking to develop libraries and other resources that can help to make them aware of the many facets of rose culture and make
their rose gardening more rewarding and pleasurable.
2008 GARDEN GUIDE
This 2008 Garden Guide contains all gardens that subscribe to the
Reciprocal Admissions Program (RAP) – indicated with an asterisk * — and brief entries for many significant rose gardens,
plus, for the first time, a limited number of nursery gardens that are open to the public. RAP gardens are listed because, in most
cases, all you need do is show your ARS membership card to gain free or reduced-cost admission. “Free w/ARS card” is your
ticket to enjoying these gardens! Each person seeking entry to an RAP garden must have their own membership card.

The GREEN INDUSTRY YELLOW PAGES.
The American Rose Society has joined the GREEN INDUSTRY YELLOW PAGES in developing a searchable database for roses. The current list of varieties is long - and growing. GREEN INDUSTRY YELLOW PAGES provides the sources for roses, and everything garden-related. Check it out: www.GIYP.com.
