Quilt shows are often held at the ARS Spring Conventions.
Roses and/or rose themed fabric/design must predominate.
All entries are to be completely stitched by one person, except in the Group categories (long arm quilting may be done by a different person).
All quilts must be quilted by hand, by machine, or by both. “Tied” quilts will NOT be accepted.
Quilts must have been completed after 2005.
Quilts submitted CANNOT have previously been displayed in any ARS quilt show.
Categories/sizes and their dimensions for 2008 are:
Large quilts – 60” x 80” or larger
Lap quilts – minimum of 40” x 40”, maximum of 60” x 60”
Miniature quilts – no larger than 24” on a side. Miniature quilts are to be miniature in scale, not simply small quilts. All aspects of the quilt are to be reduced in scale.
Wall quilts – 24” x 24” or larger.
Quilted wearable items (clothing) – no limitations
A label with the entrant’s name, address and phone number must be firmly attached to the back of the quilt on the lower right-hand corner.
Quilts must have a 4” (minimum) hanging sleeve attached to top back of the quilt.
You do not have to be registered for the convention to enter your quilt unless you plan on participating in other events or programs.
You do not have to be an ARS member to enter, however we'd love it if you were. Contact the ARS if you want to belong…it's a great place to be!
One good quality photo of your quilt, a non-refundable $10 entry fee (check or money order) and the entry form must be postmarked by May 1, 2008. Late entries will NOT be accepted so send your application early! Entry forms should be mailed to:
Marcie Emily
ARS Quilt Show
6410 West 44 Avenue #3
Wheat Ridge CO 80033
Mailed quilts must also include a $20.00 non-refundable return postage fee. Deadlines for the receipt of your quilt are listed on the Entry Form.
You must arrange to get your quilt to the show and pick it up when the show ends. If you have a designated agent picking up your quilt, that person must have a signed permission note from you. Please see the entry Form for drop-off dates.
All submissions must be displayed for the duration of the show.
Insurance - If a quilt exceeds $500 in value, it must be accompanied by a certified quilt appraisal.
Quilts donated to the ARS Show may be sold at a silent auction. The ARS and DRS are a 501-C-3 organization, so the value of donated quilts qualify as a tax deduction. We hope you will consider donating your quilt.
